The Desk

HIs deskPlaying around one day with my travel

camera, I took this picture and was

reminded of a short piece I wrote. . .

A small notepad on a desk is all that’s left

it holds the truth of who she really was – the sum of her years

no trace of her remains – only faded ink and yellowed pages

final thoughts and wishes recorded to be shared after her transition

it was her trusted companion – it held all her dreams,  fears,

secrets, and failures

it was her story to be told on her terms
