Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and it’s a holiday focused on “romantic” love. The commercialization of this holiday doesn’t promote agape. Agape or “brotherly love” extends beyond a mate or significant other – it is the love of humanity.
On this national day of “love” should you find yourself romantically unattached, here’s something to consider. Let this day inspire you to show love to someone else. Surprise a friend who’s been going through a difficult time with a card or phone call. What about that busy Mom who would love coming home after a long day to a meal she didn’t have to cook? The elderly neighbor that could use a ride to the grocery store, or even pay for someone’s coffee. Valentine’s Day should be everyday because love should be expressed more than once a year. This Valentine’s Day #payitforward with love.
